Happy Easter!

So, it's Easter #2 here in Peru. Easter is rather different here... it is completely religious - meaning people go to church (but that's normal here...) There are very few Easter bunnies... and those are all living on my window in the form of window clingies (thanks mommy!). They do have chocolate eggs and extremely expensive jelly beans, though!

Lucky for me and Paolo, my mommy is fantastic and mailed us an Easter box! Inside there were lots of Easter treats - including... A CADBURY EGG!! YUMMMMMMMM!!!

Last night, we went to a party at another expat's house. I met a bunch of new people. It's nice to finally be meeting "normal" people here. Most expats are a bit odd... for the lack of a better term... and I've been really missing having good female friends. My current expat friend list:

Christine (Canada) Anna (Ohio) Victoria (NY)
Kate (Madison!! woo!!) Peter (Aussie) Dan (Indiana)
Amy (San Fran) Joel (UK) Naomi (Aussie)

My new potential expat friends:
Joni (Canada) Renee (Texas)
Allison (Texas) Mari (Canada)

Now of all these ppl, who will actually become and remain friends? Good question... like I learned at the beginning of the school year from Mrs. Robinson, expats are like dogs at a fair. Yep. I don't quite get it either, but most expats are here with one foot out the door... meaning there is high friend turnover. Christine, Kate, Anna, and Victoria seem to be here for the long run... Everyone else either has a foot out the door or could potentially stick it out anytime. It's interesting thinking about that... Joni had some great insight to the friend revolving door that is called Peru! But this is a topic for a different blog.

I hope you all have a super Easter... remember the real reasons behind it, but also enjoy all the happy children in their spring clothing, the chocolate bunnies, the easter egg hunts, spending time with the fam, and most of all, CADBURY EGGS!
